Heat islands are an increasing phenomenon in European cities, fundamentally shaped by the city´s materiality and morphology.

To feel, measure and evaluate the effects of the built environment on thermal and acoustic stress, we are organizing a 2-day workshop in Amsterdam in cooperation with TU Delft. Students from both universities will experience different thermal and acoustic conditions and evaluate them based on their perception. This will lead to design and planning approaches to guarantee the quality of urban spaces despite the challenges of climate change.
